Nattilik Heritage Centre Expansion Project

In October of 2021, Four Peaks was contracted by the Nattilik Heritage Society (NHS) in Gjoa Haven, Nunavut, to manage the execution of the expansion of their Heritage Centre.  With the recent discovery of the 1845 Franklin Expedition ships (HMS Erebus and HMS Terror), the NHS partnered with Parks Canada to expand their current Heritage Centre to include a new exhibition showcasing the various artifacts and stories extracted from the two ships.  Four Peaks has assisted the NHS to secure additional funding to contribute to the expansion, providing additional spaces for community use.  The existing 300m2 centre will be expanded to include an additional 500m2 of exhibition space and community multi-use space.  The current budget for this project is a little over $12 million.  The new expansion is currently scheduled to be completed in March of 2025.  Four Peaks has gained valuable experience working with the local community and municipal government groups to ensure the local Inuit are receiving a high-quality expansion.  The continued success of this project is how Four Peaks landed the contract for the Nunavut Inuit Heritage Centre.

Nunavut Inuit Heritage Centre

Four Peaks was contracted by the Inuit Heritage Trust (IHT) in June of 2023 to help drive the development of the Nunavut Inuit Heritage Centre (NIHC) in Iqaluit, Nunavut.  It was mandated in the Nunavut Agreement that Nunavut would receive a Heritage and Culture centre to house all their artifacts and share their history to all visitors to Nunavut.  The realization of this promise has only just now started to take shape.  Dorte Mandrup (award winning architect from Denmark) won the design competition and has started the development of the design for the 5,500m2 building and $160 million project.  Four Peaks will assist IHT to ensure the momentum from the design competition carries over to the execution of the construction.

Drumheller Flood Mitigation Downtown Dike

At the start of 2022, Four Peaks was contracted by SweetTech Engineering Consultants to manage the execution of their design for the Drumheller Downtown Dike.  As part of a larger Flood Mitigation project, the Town of Drumheller Floor Resiliency Office contracted SweetTech to design and manage the construction of the Downtown Dike.  Through numerous design iterations and multiple public engagement sessions, the project finally reached the construction phase in the summer of 2023.  Four Peaks was a critical piece to the puzzle in bringing this project to construction with the approval of the Town of Drumheller.

At the inception of Four Peaks in 2021, ARCAN needed some Project Management assistance for their Nunavut Housing projects.  Over two months, Four Peaks provided their services to ensure the coordination of this project was caught up and back on schedule.   Four Peaks has very strong Project Coordination skills and can be a valuable team member to any project execution.
